ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Lead Auditor – Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS)
I completed lead auditor training for ISO/IEC 42001:2023 in April 2025 and received the certificate in May. The course covered how to plan and carry out audits of an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS).
It gave me a structured way to review AI governance, data quality, risk management and human oversight, alongside the technical controls around AI systems.

What I learned
I learned how to assess an AI management system against ISO/IEC 42001, plan an audit and document findings. The exercises covered data governance, model risk and the evidence needed to assess oversight and accountability.
I use this training as a reference when reviewing governance around AI tools. It helps me ask specific questions about ownership, risk assessment, approved use and monitoring.
